Facility Expenses

Production and storing facilities are the integral components of every supply chain. This table contains data on the expenses for each site. The data it contains helps to optimize the expenses of supply chain components and their number, based on these expenses. 

Such results can be obtained by running the corresponding experiment, which will use the data from this table (as well from other ALX tables containing the required data) to provide the optimal solution in terms of required conditions. 




Defines the facility the expenses are defined for. 

Double-click the cell to select the facility from the list (the list is taken from the DCs and Factories table).

Expense Type

Select the type of expense the facility incurs: 

  • Initial cost - the cost of building/opening a facility/group of facilities.
  • Closure cost - the cost of closing a facility/group of facilities.
  • Other cost - other costs per day associated with the facility/group of facilities.
  • [Available in SIM scenario type] Facility cost - the cost of renting a facilitiy/group of facilities per day per cubic meter.
  • Carrying cost - expenses for storing the site inventory per day per volume unit.


The cost related to the facility/group of facilities. 


The type of currency that the payment will be made in.

Time Unit

Specify the time unit that the Time Period is expressed in.

Note: The list of available units comprises the units defined in the ALX Preferences.

Product Unit

[Available only if Carrying cost is set in the Expense type colum] 

The capacity measurement units (pieces, or weight, or volume units). 

Note: The list of available units comprises the units defined both in the ALX Preferences and the Units table.

Time Period

The time period during which the expenses will be incurred.

Double-click the corresponding row cell to choose among the available periods (previously defined in the Periods table).
